Baptism

Believer’s baptism is a significant and meaningful step on the journey of faith. It marks a moment when we respond to God’s call, make a personal commitment to follow Jesus as Lord, and experience His presence and blessing in a powerful way.

Baptism by full immersion symbolizes the end of our old life and the beginning of new life in Christ. It speaks of repentance, cleansing, and being united with Jesus in His death and resurrection. It’s also a public witness to the transforming work of God in our lives.

Baptism is not just about personal faith — it’s also about receiving God’s Spirit for service, both in the church and in the world.

As Baptists, we believe that this step of baptism is rooted in Scripture:

Jesus set the example – He was baptised by John (Matthew 3:13-17; Mark 1:9-11; Luke 3:21-22).

Jesus gave the command – “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:18-20).

The early church practised it – "Repent and be baptised, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:37-38)

Throughout the book of Acts, we see believer’s baptism as a key part of following Jesus.

If you’re considering baptism or want to learn more, we’d love to walk with you on this next step of faith. Please come and speak to our Minister on any Sunday, or Contact us.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When
We meet at the Church Building (details here) for our Sunday Service starting at 10:30am. For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to ensure you get a parking space and find somewhere to sit before the service begins. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team who will be wearing a Welcome lanyard.

We always serve Tea and Coffee after the service in the Oasis, so please hang around and say hi.

Accessibility
There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets in the main foyer.

Our Service
The main service begins at 10:30am with a warm welcome from one of our Deacons. Then follows a time of sung worship, led by our musicians.

Our minister will then give a sermon that is Bible based and that we can apply to our everyday life. We then finish with a final worship song. Sometimes there is an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service.

What about my kids?
Children stay with their parent or grown-up at the start of the service for the welcome, songs and notices. We really value worshipping God all together as a family. At the end of the notices someone will announce that it’s time for the younger members to go to the Sunday school. Our volunteers have DBS and have level 3 safeguarding training. Whilst you are dropping your kids off at their groups, we pause to take time to chat to someone sitting near or next to us, giving folk a chance to come back before the sermon begins.

The kids group activities vary depending on the age but usually there is a friendly welcome, bible stories, testimonies, praying, music, craft, drama, fun games and free play. The children will return to the meeting before the service finishes.

*Please note that our Sunday school may not operate every Sunday, but we are aiming to make this happen in the near future.

We normally have a slot within the service to interact with the children/youth, normally a story or lesson from the Bible.
